Takeshi Arita - TEN
JANUARY 2 - JANUARY 31 2016
SARDINE is very pleased to present a solo show titled TEN by Takeshi Arita. The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 6-9pm, and runs through Sunday, January 31, 2016.
TEN is anchored by a large-scale site-specific installation, made with simple materials available at any hardware store. With this common language, Arita is able to create a complex work with many vantage points and surprises. SARDINE’s modest space is then expanded, activated, and transformed into a vessel of sculpture.
Takeshi Arita was born in Saga, Japan and has lived in New York since 1980. He has been included in many group shows throughout Japan and in and around New York. He has shown with Gallery Shoshinkan, Studio 34, Gallery Onetwentyeight, White Columns, Glenlily Grounds, and Mass Moca.
SARDINE is located on the ground floor of 286 Stanhope Street, Brooklyn. For more information, please visit sardinebk.com. Contact: Lacey Fekishazy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
